Wreck It Ralph Manchester Printworks - After going to last months 10am screening of The Impossible, and being met with a huge crowd of people at the door, I was surprised to get there at 10am today to a queue of two families, followed by dribs and drabs of parents with children, the odd couple...considering how fast the tickets sold out (twice) I was expecting it to be heaving, with people being turned away due to lack of seats.
No issues with tickets, no pushing, no queueing, no people being turned away. Wandered in, handed over ticket, got a good seat in an 80% full screen. Very very very unexpected.0 -
i use times + member for screenings. we get a membership card which we show at the screening with the printed ticket with my name on. so no dubicate/fae ones can be used.:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol

It was all done quite loudly by the staff at The Vue cinema too - I think they were a bit too heavy-handed to be honest, they made the people feel like they were committing a crime (technically I suppose they were, but it still wasn't pleasant).
From my experience, it seems like the more vigilant checks are done on the family films, especially the Disney ones on Sunday mornings. I remember a lot of trouble last year for the screening of Muppets, when people had been caught trying to get in with forged tickets, and the police were called.....
I disagree.
If you have a ticket and are asked to take a page from a mag or newspaper, and don't - that could be something as simple as you have left the paper at home, in the car, in the pocket of your other coat.
I think that is very very different from forging a ticket.
How can you accidentally manage to manufacture a fraudulent ticket ?
How can you "forget" to bring the genuine one, and accidentally manage to have a forged one in your hand ?
Surely it is the same as being asked for ID when buying alcohol.
Not having your driving license or passport is not illegal, but you risk not being able to buy alcohol if they do ask for it.
But I assume it is more serious being caught with a stolen or forged driving license or passport ?!0 -
Let's just hope companies start cracking down and checking ID etc0

I went to my first "free" screening today - and my first ever 3d film (wreck-it Ralph). Got there nice and early and even got premier seats
I don't really understand all the discussion here about papers etc - but of somebody could explain for a newbie that would be great ... This one I got an email from seefilmfirst, clicked, got tickets, printed the email & off I went.0 -

Some codes are issued by Heat magazine or Mail on Sunday for example. The terms and conditions state that you need the page from the publication and should present it when you show your printout. It's designed to garner sales for the paper or magazine.
Some cinemas do ask to see the relevant page. Most don't. However, if you turn up without the page and are asked for it, the cinema don't have to admit you. Some will ask you to stand to one side, admit those with the page and if there are seats available, they will allow you in if you don't have it.
It's a bit hit and miss to be honest if you are a newbie.
I hope you enjoyed Ralph?0 -
Hi everyone,
I subscribed to the free cinema tickets thread and I used to get the emails but now I don't? It's frustrating to check the page and keep missing out because I've not had an email and it's too late. Any ideas why?
Thanks0 -
