In my case, I refuse to pay for a freebie. So it must have been returned to the sender.
According to Inspecteur Clouzot, he suspects that paint company (St Valentine's campaign):D0 -

Lacoste perfume sample, what a great freebie, many thanks to original poster.0

The £1.19 was for the free sample of post it notes that was advertised a few weeks ago.
The envelope had a 2nd class stamp on it which as far as I can tell is more than sufficient.
Not happy.
Here's the info. I would contact the senders, as it's a really bad PR error on their part.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Thanks for the link Mcculloch, but it's no more than 3mm thick in my case. I'll definitely be contacting them!Anchor yourself to the foundations of everything you love.

A bag full of Clarins samples from Debenhams after I made a complaint to them about their absolutely disgraceful (lack of) customer service. A free brew for two at Bents Garden Centre courtesy of an email from them and an email telling me I have been successful in the World Book Night big giveaway. Oh and some glucosamine tablets.0
