Car tax calculation

in Cutting tax
Hi all,
I've got a rather frustrating situation:
I've got a 1.8 TD Fiesta which was registered on the 31 Jan 2001, which is a day before the new rules on car tax calculation came out...
This means, my car tax is calculated on the old rules (any car over 1590cc is around £215 a year)...
If it was registered a day later, I'd be calculated under it's emissions and if you work it out, I'd be paying about £130 a year!!
Is there anyway I can get my car calculated under the new emission system? Seems a bit unfair if not!!
If anyone can shed some light on this I'd very much appreciate it!
Andy.

Actually it's a month and day, the old rules apply to cars registered before 1st March 2001, source: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524
I'd say the chances of getting the DVLA to change this are zero.0
