Metal Roof Mortgage????

Do mortgage providers have a problem with Metal Roofs? I've found a property in my budget range which has a metal roof (in good condition) can I get a mortgage? a friend said not :(

    Will usually come down to the surveyors opinion.
    The house is the security for the mortgage and as such should be durable and readily saleable to a non restricted market place, so that in the event of repossession the asset can be realised readily.

    My gut feel is most if not all lenders will decline such a roof.
  • Thanks for advice. I live in an area where many cottages have metal roofs, (the one I am interested in is at present a holiday let) so do you think local mortgage providers would be more sympathetic?
