The England Away shirt is out of date this summer anyway I believe.

The link clearly states that you may bring the shirt into any of their stores or proof of purchase, so why are JJB "stupid" - you don't need to have your receipt from 6-8 years ago, it's an alternative to taking the shirt itself in...?

Also, does it really matter if the shirt is out of date this summer - it's a free shirt!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for these shirts in my local charity shops.

If I find one I can buy it - helping out a good cause - and use it to get a free shirt and mug for myself - an even better cause, haha!

Sorry to make my first ever post a bit of a rant - I do feel better now though and my posts can only get better from here on in!

I can confirm you only need to bring in the shirt - you do not need proof!

A receipt is not a legal document........

The shop doesn't have to give you one.........

So you dont have to produce one..............

The shop has to prove that you did not buy the item from them

But if you have one it strengthens your case

i still have the man utd shirt and have found the receipt for it it is dated 1st august 2000 and cost 39.99 for the youth size lol anbyway took it in and they were amazed i still had it so got an xl shirt and mug for free

Thanks for that as i use the red one for football as my husband doesn't like me using his NEW ones plus i get a free mug in the process.
