Just had my maturity value projections from Phoenix for my former Brittanic low cost endowments,due to pay out in May,with potential terminal bonus added.
Target amount 28000 Maturity 29283

Target amount is 39000 and it has potentially made 39594. A whopping 594 profit after 25 years of investment.0

Achieving the target overall is a good result. The small surplus is a bonus.

I too have other policies that have shortfalls, the time difference between getting the vastly overstated projection (as it turned out) and the final maturity of my policy was under 2 months!0

When sold these policies do the phrases 'stock market doubles in value every 5 years' and ' you will receive at least twice the sum insured' ring any bells!!!0

Never heard those phrases before. Typically the stockmarket doubles more like every 10 years but just to show that the last couple of decades have not been typical, the stockmarket has had a number of periods recently where it is actually lower than what it was a decade ago.
