    Mortgage-free Glee!
Congratulations on your first overpayment :T
  • Having a minor panic .... :( ..sent the money ...checked it was there but should I have told them that I want it to come off the capital ...just read about someone who has mortgage with C&G and seems their money has not been used in that way  Is that unusual ... should I be worried?
On another note anyone else hate being cold and snowy... roll on the summer and light nights :D

  • Have to agree over dark nights. Cold and snow etc never is pleasant in the evenings. Am grateful that in a few weeks it'll be light close to 6pm and quite possibly bright in the mornings too - that's the key one! I think if you speak to C and G and explain what you want to do with the money you might be okay in confirming if it'll be off capital or time. Anyway, you can just up the amount you pay in your mortgage so that it negates the effect of it not coming off the capital?

Looking forward to great overpayments this year from you :)
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

Just got so excited to send an overpayment that I just sent it off without a backward glance.... (note to self - make sure you know what you are doing :D)
Seemed everyone set off for work a bit earlier this morning so a long journey in .... scooted off home early though so got back before the misty fog set in ... I am with you ... roll on early mornings....

  • Not been good at posting but spend hours reading everyone's diaries.... decided to have a quick update (one year later:D) to make sure I am keeping on track ...

    Things achieved.....

Regular A*d* shopper..... major savings there and every month £5 off with the mirror voucher....

Rabbit loving the cheap new food ..... :) Knew he would get on board...

Managed £200 overpayments each month and mortgage now in the £80's (well only just)

Looking at new job ... less money but better for me I think .... need to do application before I change my mind (again)

Mortgage pig is filling up (£50+ at last count!)

Getting lots of inspiration of others diaries....

    Things to do ....

    Keep overpaying every month

See if I can really afford a paycut ;)

Keep spending hours reading how everyone else is doing...:j

Catching up again ... spend lots of time reading diaries and never get round to doing anything about my own.... :D
    So here goes...

Still paying £200 a month as overpayment.
Remembering to buy the Mirror last Thursday in the month for my £5 off.
Went for new job ... hated it and decided better off where I am much as I moan!!!
Still looking at properties by the sea and imagining our little cottage in 10 years (or more time) :j

Our fixed rate is up in Jan and I keep seeing lots of great rates now ... ahhhgggg...

Lots of houses going up for sale in our street.... would it be really naughty to ask for a valuation even if have no plans to move ...??? Does anyone else wonder how much their house is actually worth ... that would help me know if we own the upstairs yet :rotfl:

Will keep plodding and will continue with my ramblings next month ...

    Good luck to all

    Made just over £100 ...:j
Now thinking when to do a big clear out and do the next one!!! Up at the crack of dawn though and soooo tired now...
Hope everyone had a sunny weekend :D
