paid employer tax but no wage slips or p60,s

my son who is 24 has worked for the same employer for 5 yrs but has never had a wage slip, or p60 and gets paid cash in hand weekly when the employer has money he is owed hundreds of back pay etc and employer refuses holiday pay , he has a contract etc, what can he do, hmrc say he has never paid any income tax or ni yet its deducted from his pay as he does his time sheets and knows what he should get

Sounds like this will not end well - when the job ends he will discover the tax has never been paid to HMRC and he will be unable to claim benefits if he should have to and without payslips etc, should he have an accident, will struggle to show he was an employee - even worse you could end up with revenue thinking he is self employed, and want the tax direct from him.:eek:

Is your son the only employee or are there others in the same boat? If there are others I suggest your son has a little chat with them to find out if they have received P60s etc.
How interested were HMRC when they looked up your son's details? I think his employer may receive a 'nasty' surprise in the post sometime soon. As above, doesn't sound good.0 -

he is the only employee now although the company take on temp staff when they have large contracts.
