My mum and her pension

please can you help me, my mums birthday is the 10th March 2012, she will start receiving her pension. Please can anybody simply the lengthy forms. i.e how will she be paid, they have listed some payment dates but after the first 3 weekly payments as they've stated, it doesn't say how frequent it will be.
also because at the moment she receives incapacity benefit, ( which we know will stop, when the pension starts ) does she have to ring and notify anybody of the change? or will this automatically be done, and the pension amount will be paid into the same bank account.
Thanks in advanced from a very confused daughter

Chances are it would be paid the same frequency as her Incapacity Benefit was, normally fortnightly in arrears.
She can always give them a call to ask.0 -

How old will she be on her birthday? Women don't get their pension at 60 any more - http://pensions-service.direct.gov.uk/en/state-pension-age-calculator/home.asp
If she has been receiving IB, it's worth looking at Attendance Allowance once she passes pension age. Get help to fill in the forms if they seem to apply. AA is not means tested so is paid on top of the pension.0 -

Born between these dates
6th March 1952 to 5th April 1952
SP date: 6th March 2014
SP age: 61y11m – 62y0m
So nothing to worry about till 2014 then just over 2 years from now:

The OP didn't say which birthday her mother would have on 10 March 2012! If it's her 61st then she gets her state pension starting then.
She should also check if she should get pension credit. Phoning the Pension Service is simplest way.0 -

If so, she'll reach pension age on 6th March.0
