Oops, posted on the wrong thread!

What a stressful weekend. 1200miles, 22hrs on the road and hundreds of pounds.

Im, once again, really annoyed at my family. It was my grandads funeral and my Mum needed someone to support her, my sister is sunning herself for 2 weeks in the Carribbean(wasnt pre booked and flew the day AFTER the funeral!), my brother is in Texas so it was left to me to go with Mum. It cost £200 in petrol, £40 for a room and food. My brother was supposed to send flowers via interflora but messed it up and I had to rush out to get some, another £45. I was asked to go by my siblings to support our Mum and represent all 3 of us, something I was happy to do. Im just annoyed that I've ended up paying for everything when my brother is a millionnaire, my sister is pretty rich herself, and im on benefits and the only one with children to support. Im not asking they pay for everything but a little something my way would be nice. Im really worried now as Im supposed to be taking my son to London this weekened for his birthday present and its my daughters birthday in 10 days but Im worried I'll have no money now. I budgeted for it all but had to use it for petrol. Feeling a bit sorry for myself, and my bank balance!

Hope everyone has been well, Im off to catch up on the 10 pages I've missed.

  • nat21luv so sorry to hear of all your problems. :( I am glad you got there and helped your mum. It sounds like the others lead busy lives. Have you told your brother exactly what you feel? It can help as if he is so wealthy a few hundred pounds may not mean alot to him and he may not realise just how much you have to make ends meet. I am sure he wouldnt want his nephew and niece to miss out on their birthdays. You are all family but sometimes siblings dont notice what is right in front of their face! I think you should tell them politely and hopefully they will chip in. You went to represent all three of you so the trip should be funded by all three. It is a sad time and the added stress caused to you is unfair. Clearing the air is probably the best way or you may ended up resenting your siblings, and that is not good in the long run at all.

Keep your head up proud in the knowledge that you did the best thing and your mum knows you were there when she needed your support. Well done :D

Keep smiling and good luck with the London trip

Thanks Catherine. My bro and I dont speak much, he doesnt really speak to any of us and he's never seen his neice or nephew...my boy is 8! I know if I talk to my sister about helping me out a little, she will tell me where to go! I'll ask her when she's finished swimming with turtles!

    Thanks for your help xx
Sorry to hear of your troubles Sweet, hope you and OH get through it xx

  • A LOVELY and very welcome £79.85 to add from Amazon trade in. Added to my account last night :) Finally getting a little bit more back on track. I also seem to be managing to keep my overall spending down so far this month, ignoring the fact that I have had to pay out lots for my course - that was always going to cost and is just being added to my debt total :-S But I will get rid of it all - and quickly hopefully!!!

I'm heading to my mum's today for a few days so that should keep the spending down completely which will be lovely, and my course ends on Sunday, which will be even more lovely! No more silly outgoings! And I can pick up all my other saleable stuff when I'm at my mum's :-D

Bring on the rest of the month!!

Nat21luv - really sorry to hear about your troubles - my sibs are largely the same though none of us have been particularly well off (until recently when my brother's work has been going VERY well). But I always seem to be the one to pay for things and to make sure that the little things like flowers on my mum's birthday etc appear. Frustrating as wotsit, but at least it makes you feel good for doing something nice for your mum. And you'll never have the regret of not being there for her when she needed you - can the others say that? Keep smiling :)

Swagbucks main ways to earn are searches (you win swagbucks every few searches), special offers (these include watching videos), surveys (both under trusted surveys and special offers - don't bother with most of the special offer ones they take forever and disqualify you but surveys under the peanut labs tab usually work), tasks (The one's that say answer a few questions about a website are paricularly quick and easy) and codes (these come out periodically and other MSEers will usually let you know when one is about). Oh and swagbucks TV will give you another 3 points after each 10 videos you watch (this takes time and may not seem worth it but it can run whilst you're doing other things, you can earn up to 150 sb a day on SBTV, from the 27th of Feb though it'll be a maximum of 75 sb).

For more info on swagbucks try reading - http://sites.google.com/site/swagin101/ which was written by swagbucks users and gives hints and tips.

For superpoints getting referrals is pretty key. Make sure you have filled in your basic profile and confirmed your email address so you are at least a basic user. This will give you 30 clicks a day on the superlucky button. You can earn points by using the superlucky button but also by completeing offers and watching videos. I generally watch vids under videos and also Matomy.

If you can get at least 2 referrals on superpoints (who at least become basic members) you'll become a gold member (this means you have 50 clicks but alwso crucially any points they win on the superlucky button you also get). You can also cash out earlier.

Wow Thanks for all the info :D I have done a bit on superpoints last night . I still not sure if i registered with swagbucks the other night [ will have to check emails } ......Unless someone wants to refer me if they get something for it ??? edited - I ahve now signed up with fracturedsun link ..Cheers

nat21luv Sorry to hear about whats been going on . How about mentioning to your brother / sister in a indirect way " Yes I don't mind paying for the flowers / petrol etc as I wanted to be there for mum - So rather than give me cash towards the flowers just treat the kids for their birthdays as Im rather strapped for cash and they have lost a grandparent / had a bad time recently - so I think they deserve something to cheer them up !!?! "
This way you sound like you are just assuming they are going to use there manners and offer you some money towards costs , without the confrontation .

Ive yet to tally up on my total so far - waiting for some payments off ebay still too ;)

A whopping great £1.38 profit from Amazon. For selling 3 CDs!! :rotfl:
I knew their fees are high but I'd forgotten just how ridiculous they really are! £1.49 fee for selling a CD for £2  At least they charge buyers a decent enough postage to cover it and allow a bit of extra profit.

Just seen another Pinecone survey in my inbox so will get that done in a min.

Also just seen the Amazon vouchers redeemed from MySurvey a couple of days ago have arrived in my inbox, and checked OHs emails and 'his' are there too. And, saw another email saying 'Someone has sent you an Amazon Gift Certificate' which I thought for a second was a bit suspicious as it usually says who it's from rather than 'someone' but it looks like a genuine £20 voucher, so I'd imagine it's from McCains as we've been emailing them to chase up the one he deleted by accident before. Also had £16.77 Amazon voucher through from Top CashBack. Obviously only adding the £30 from our MySurveys and £16.77 from TCB as I'd have added the £20 McCains when we first got it, but it's fab to have an extra £66.77 in there now! :D Saving for a decent Freesat box as we only have terrestrial at the moment which will be gone soon enough with the digital switchover.
