I got dressed up for him and had his favourite dinner on the table when he got in from work. I don't even remember getting a card, thats when I knew it wouldn't work between us...it would be nice just to have a small gesture put my way. He can't even say that he spends the rest of the year telling me he loves me.........because he doesn't.....i won't be getting anything again and I was going to bake a heart shaped cake or do a heart shaped treacle tart tonight, but i just don't see why I should bother...Never got one when I was with him 15 years!!(He got gifts from me). Was told they were a waste of money. Sometimes its just the thought that counts...I didnt get a card or anything of my boyf, a text would have been nice, i mentioned to him that he didnt get me a birthday card so i want a valentines card, nothing, i wont be seein him 2nite, i just wanna cry...
Aww... this is a really really sad thread I agree that Valentine's day is overcommercialised and pushed by the big corporations to make us spend even more money. But it doesn't take that much to send a card (even a homemade one) or a quick text to tell your partner you love them. Strange how it's all girls who are suffering from unromantic partners - I don't understand why women stay with men who don't treat them right. Happy Valentine's day to all of you. Hugs and kisses :grouphug: :smileyhea

I haven't stayed with men who didn't treat me right, tho actually the 1st one left me and ran off with my (wealthy) mate. The other 2 I left, 1 thru DV and one thru lies and gettin me into debt when I'd battled long and hard to get out of it. But it leaves me wondering.........why don't any of them treat me right?? And yes, I'm a lonely DFW, tho I have great kids and a lovely grand daughter, and great friends, but I'm still lonely. Thanks for the thread, and HVD to those who celebrate it!0

 Girls
 are like apples
 on trees. The best ones
are at the top of the tree.
The boys dont want to reach
----for the good ones because they
--are afraid of falling and getting hurt.----
-Instead, they just get the rotten apples--
---from the ground that aren't as good, --
-but easy. So the apples at the top think-
-something is wrong with them, when in--
 ----reality, they're amazing. They just----
have to wait for the right boy to
 come along, the one who's
 brave enough to
 climb all
 the way
 to the top
 of the tree.
 woohoo1 it mostly worked! xx0

If girls are like apples - what are boys like.
