Claiming expenses from failed company

in Cutting tax
I had a limited company that was shut down after making a big loss when I became ill and couldn't work. I am now self-employed and this year is the first full year of self-employed tax I'll need to complete.
Question: since the company was shut down with a loss of around £12K, none of its expenses have been claimed against tax for several years - there was no point. Am I then able to claim obvious things like phone, rent from before the current tax year? Being able to get some relief from the company crashing would be a help. Thanks.

was the company formally dissolved?
not sure why you now think you can claim expenses as your own if they were incurred by the company before it was dissolved?0
