I still think it highly unfair that a benefit that is paid regularly from the same source as income based benefits doesn't qualify for help. Maybe pressure should be brought to bear on the DWP?

Given that the DWP are trying to cut their spending, they are not going to open the floodgates to further claims.

Have you ensured that you are receiving your full benefit entitlement?

contact your local CAB - in our area (London), Thames Water Trust can assist those in financial hardship with 'white goods'. Your local CAB will know if there is a similar charity in your area.
