You don't say what your new salary is and this is fine. Many comparison sites you could use would require these details. You would probably required to prove income if you were to remortgage with another provider. The 0.5% above base rate is much better than the typical long term SVR of virtually all lenders so use your financial snout and do what is right for you. How are
things going with the endowment aspect ?

  • Tom - what is your remaining term on the mortgage?

Do you have any other loan / credit card commitments?

  • Sorry I forgot to ask ....

In your original post you mentioned the options offered by the Abbey - did the repayment figures include the halifax loan debt?

or was this just switching like for like?

I assume it does, but I just want to check

  • I have just rec'd my offer of 4.99% fixed Until June 2007,from the C&G. I paid a £499 application fee and I am very happy as they have lent me the £110k I needed. £97k to pay of my mortgage, £9k to pay of my loan, £1k to pay of my credit card and £3k to have a nice holiday !

I've gone 50/50 on my repayments so I will be paying £549 per month. A vast reduction from paying of my loan, cc and mortgage.

My thanks go to Stefano at St James in london who read my problem on here and gave me a great starter whilst also earning himself some nice commision.

I highly recomend him, please contact me if you would like his email address.

Just thought I would post the conclusion on here as I love reading the board and often wonder what happend.

    Thanks

    Tom.
    nothing.
  • I would be interested to find out what Stefano did for you.
If you don't know what you are talking about keep quiet
  • he took my figures and found a lender who was prepared to lend me what I wanted.

I had already contact two lenders myself and they weren't prepared to give me more than £100k.

He offered an excellent service, was always available for me and the mortgage offer was made very, very quickly.
    nothing.
