I have received a few letters about a debt which is over 12 years old so been ignoring them, now they have knocked on the door. I said it was not me as the debt in a previous name. What should I do if they come back, I would like some advice please.

Take a careful look at the info, links and letters in this link.

If you think it applies, then print out the appropriate letter.
If someone calls -
- Hand them the letter.
- Tell them that contains everything you have to say on the matter, and you will not enter into further discussion.
- If they refuse to go or cause hassle, then call the police.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
