  • The course was a dream, because i never knew they did these types of course. Or maybe i believed somewhere in my head that it was never a possibility. Only 1 person from the course has a permant job,,although he is based in london! 3 others have part time jobs here and there. Everyone else has either got a jobs in non related fields.

I've done work experience in asda/an electrical firm and petfood shop. All ranged from 2 weeks to six months.

Just so you know if you voluntary work* for a company in TV (not a charity) and don't get paid for it then that company is breaking the law and you can report them. The TV industry is clamping down on unpaid work as everyone deserves to be paid for what they do.

This is why i've struggled to work in this field. Non wanted to touch me because of the legal implications. I understand why.

or move to london or manchester.

If I want to be an offshore oil engineer for example, I would move to Aberdeen. It is the same with any course ultimately, be it corporate finance, mining, media and film, etc, you need to pick something which has work in the location you want to be.

I have a friend who is pursuing the media side of things at uni, I have to say the amount of extra curricular stuff she does, and coverage she gets during the degree should ensure someone picks her up as she is building that experience/portfolio/whatever as she goes.

Although you havent had the experience many employers will see that you are a high achiever through your education history, good luck with whichever decision you decide. P.S. why do ppl always feel the need to spell check, forums are here to advice and encourage

Five years in further education and you can't even spell?

There may be a connection between that and the fact that you are unemployed. It might be wise to devote your enormous brainpower to that problem first.
