existing report doesn't have all addresses

  • Companies can easily track previous addresses on old credit accounts etc. whenever a company reports to a CRA they list the address so if you've ever changed any addresses on your accounts (Bank a/c etc.) they'll know and have a list.

But that's my point. Equifax nor Experian have any of my other linked addresses on my current credit file.
  • Just because you cannot see it, they still can or still find it
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Equifax will show data about addresses linked to those entered.

Experian will not show data about addesses linked to those entered, only the ones specifically entered by the customer.

Lender = Bank or financial institution

I can assure you banks etc can find out undisclosed addresses that are not recorded on an application e even if it not linked to there credit report.

Basically in nut shell your committing fraud....

    Not 100% true

A number of years ago "a friend" raised about 30k from various credit cards (when providers were giving high limits and lots of cards) and he bought a house from this.....

The "friend" then moved into another friends house while the house purchase was going through and moved all his accounts to this address. The other friend still lives at this at this address and occasionally receives letter regarding these old debts, but most are statute barred anyway and fallen off the credit files etc etc.

Now this "friend" moved into this house with no mortgage attached to it(around 2001) in an old coal mining area, sold it 4 years later for a 50k profit. In that time he applied for no credit based products, only used a simple cash card type account and building society account.

In that time he was able to build a relationship with the bank who offered him a full credit based account based on current relationship.

He was then able to apply for products and they checked account history over that period.

So this person was able to not declare this address as he didn't need to, was careful what he did and ended up doing quite well for himself

None of the companies in question bothered trying to get CCJ's, in fact the accounts just did the merry go round.

You may say that experian etc has good systems with Gone away information, not declared forwarding/previous address but if the creditors believe the debtor to be still living at an address then this all helps(and not applying for anything for a number of years)

notts_phil is correct to a certain extent.

It is possible through being careful to leave a dirty past behind before the six years expire.

I will admit that I myself am no longer affected by my Bankruptcy order or the Defaults if I apply with any creditors that search Equifax or Call Credit. I don't have to lie about how long I've been at my current address, I've just moved several times since then and the addresses which are linked to the one my defaults and BR order are on don't ever get asked for on credit applications - as they only ask for current and last address, not those prior.

The next time I move the adverse data will also be hidden from those whom search Experian without my having to lie on application forms. Although I wonder if they perhaps already can't see the BR and Defaults as Nationwide happily opened a credit card and flex account for me last week... Hmm.

Experian, IME, have the most accurate and effective address linking system out of the three credit reference agencies.
