If you all could take a minute and pop by the web page below, which is petitioning The Prime Minister to review the Bursaries that Nursing Student's receive, that would be great.
The more names the better - if enough names appear on it maybe then the Government will sit up and take notice!
Thanks Very Much,:A

What is the amount of a bursary per year for each student? exactly what do they get?0

These petitions are getting a little annoying on the site.
I dont for one minute doubt your intentions but they are everywhere!!!
I want to start my own petition.
No more petitions!0 -
If you have a look at this petition it doesn't actually give allot of information. My knowledge of this is they get £4000 a year which they don't have to pay back. My son gets less than this and has to pay it back. I also agree with gazza too many petitions.0

I am a student teacher and get NO bursary, just debt! My sister is a student nurse and gets a 10k bursary, so is actually better off than me and my husband works full time whilst her husband is on IB which he gets on top of her bursary, and on top of that they get full child tax credits, council tax benefit and housing benefit so they have loads of money. I'd rather petition for a benefit for ALL students!0

Well said, Kellogs and changkra. When I was doing my PGCE I got my fees paid - no more. There was no help for nursery costs then, so we were extremely poor that year! However, as DD is now racking up debt at uni, it seems it was the better time to be a student. Either that or move to Scotland.
Hope you are surviving your time as a student.:D0 -
When my mum trained she did not get any funding. so why should they now?
she worked another job to pay, and bought up 3 children at same time0 -
I did medical training for three years, not as a nurse, and I didn't get one penny.
I don't see why student nurses should get anything either.
So no I am not signing any petition.0 -

£5800 apparently. If they want a decent job then they should be students without pay like the rest of us were.0 -

My kids went to college and Uni and worked part time to help fund it.
I can't see why student nurses can't do the same.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
