Honeymoon with or without kids

As the title says really, Daughter will be 4 when we get married we'd had an offer to look after her whilst we went on honeymoon but that person has now become disabled and already has her son. So now were not sure what to do...
Hoping my mum n dad will offer but i cant see it tbh.

At the min, were not booking anything and holding out to last minute...

  • We will have a 4 and 2 yr old when we get married. We are hoping to have 2 nghts in a local spa hotel so we will see the kids during the day for a while. I couldn't bear to be without them for too long, but this way we will get a decent nights sleep! Then I think we'll go away all 4 of us. The kids came before our marriage and are part of it so I'm not too bothered about having a honeymoon without them. Up to you though, will you relax/enjoy it without ur child?

We will have a nearly 3 and nearly 6 year old both girls.my mum has offered to have them for the week, she lives in wales so close to nice beaches locally.me and OH will have been together for nearly 7 years when we get married and unbelievably have never been away together even for a night yes i know shocking right,so as much as its going to kill me to leave my babies we need some us time,so we will be booking a last min deal after the wedding and going away.i know they love being at my mum and dads and will have a fab time so im hoping they get some fab beach weather.another thing was we have never been away abroad as a family so i felt mean but we have decided that we will book a family holiday abroad for next year,my youngest is out of nappies, pushchair etc and no longer a baby so makes holidays alot easier.i know i will miss them dearly but u need some time as a couple sometimes
  • We are taking our (will be) 5 year old with us on our honeymoon. 2 reasons - 1. prob couldn't last more than a couple of nights away from him, and 2. DS wouldn't get a hol and that wouldn't be fair. We've (I've!) planned the date around school half term actually as it's his first year in full-time school and I didn't want him to miss too much - getting married the week before half term then he will only miss the week before and some of the week after (hoping to go for 2 week mid-week to mid-week holiday). x

We've been looking at staying at Alton towers splashland resort or legoland Windsor resort - something special for all of us but fun for kids and hopefully we might get made a fuss of as it's our honeymoon lol

We are going on 'honeymoon' a month later with all 4 kids AND my parents! Ok, it's not really a honeymoon, it is a family skiing hols, but it is the only time we will get abroard! My parents have the kids one or two nights a month as a rule, so we are hopeful they may have them and we can just escape for a night or two. Plus, on the actual wedding night MIL will be taking them all to a different hotel at 10pm, HOOOORAH!

  • Thank you for all you're input. We actually get married on the last day of half term so if we did take her with us she would miss some of school (first year full time).

At first we had planned 4 nights in new york to experience halloween over there. Then we said why dont we have a mini moon - a weekend away in the lakes then on a family - moon.

Then it changed to going to florida together next year.
Now were just waiting til the last minute, if DD does come with us then we will make sure theres a good kids club ;-) I do love her to the end of the world and she did come before our marriage however i still want our honeymoon as a couple
