Anyone recommend a hand blender?

My trusty old Moulinex hand/stick blender is about 15 years old and I bought it with Tiger Tokens! It came with an attachment for two mixer blades (like a hand mixer). Yesterday this attachement died
. The stick blender bit still works. I have been looking for a replacement and nearly driving myself mad! Most new stick blenders only come with a whisk attachment and not the double blades I am used to. I wondered if anyone on here has bought a hand blender recently that they would recommend? Is the whisk attachment any good?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Is this the sort of thing you have in mind:-
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&langId=-1&q=HAND+WHISK&pp=20&r_001=1|Price|12.5+%3C%3D++%3C%3D+14.99|2
I can recommend either of these, they are excellent and well worth the money.
Or this for blending:-

I'm not sure whether Tesco still have their one for £4.98, alot of people on here have mentioned that one. I've got one and its very good.0 -
Thank you for that. My old one was like the second one but with a separate attachment for mixing. It meant that it did not take up a lot of space in my cupboards but I can't seem to find anything similar now except for the Dualit one which is a) expensive and b) the reviews are awful! I don't mind paying for a good reliable one, after all my old one lasted about 15 years.
Thanks again.

Try BAMIX. Very good and versatile.0

Buy the best, but shop around and don't pay full price. I got my 450 Watt Braun MC4050HC with blending jug, whisk and little food processor attachments in May 2008 for £29.39 in Argos. It's still going strong after countless litres of soup, etc.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
