Dms hounding me ............

Hi guys , we lost our house back in 2007 due to me loosing my job . Like a lot of families with children we took out ( foolishly ) a secured loan on the property . When the house was repossessed the secured loan became an unsecured loan and none of the monies payed off any of the secured loan which left me owing 16,000 pounds
. We were able to get rehoused with the local authority and as you can imagine up to my eye balls in debt . I have been sorting out my other finances and am paying them off monthly by direct debit and alls going well . Theyre happy im happy . We were recieving letters from DMS ( secured loan ) but foolishly i ignored them as its been nearly 4 years since we lost the house . I came home yesterday and found a letter from DMS which was hand written and hand delivered . They had sent an agent to the house giving me 2 days to reply . Now I know now that I have to pay them and i dont want to do an IVA so what are my options ?? We have 2 children 15 and 11 and one on the way and being pregnant my wifes in bits over this so its time to sort this out . I know that we were paying something like £250 a month on this secured loan obviously over a long term at the time . If i speak to these people whats my chances of offering a smaller amount of say £80 a month as i am trying my best to sort my finances out and am paying every month on time . Or is my option seeking legal advice . If anyone can help i would really appreciate it . Thanks :j

You can start by requesting that this company deals with you in writing only and does not visit you at your home. There are letter templates on here somewhere, I'm sure someone will be along soon to point you in the direction of one of them.
