Freedom Pass [bus pass] new age limits

The Freedom pass was available to those of 60 and over in London.
I have been told that although it has been announced that the minimum age is due to rise gradually and has just jumped to 62 this has yet to be approved officially and is thus not yet effective. Can Martin, or other, confirm the position as i am in a limbo. I am just 60 but the Post Office will not handle my application even though it was one generated on line and passed my age as elegible.
Please help.
Thanks.
