    Sounds suspect to me though.

Are these your only clients? HMRC have a checklist on their site to check if you are truly self employed.

These are loop holes that they are looking to close, you will pay less tax, but the company gain as they have no employer contributions to make, this is why HMRC will be looking closly at these kind of situations
  • Once you start working as 'self-employed', how long do they give you until you have to officially register as self employed? Thanks.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that is why it is called the present.

Hi in relation to this extra job I have taken as self-employment, my full-time company have stated that I can not work more than 48hours in a week. I know this is in line with the working regulations however would they know if I did more, I was thinking of opting out with them but they seem very strict on the matter.

No, they wouldn't know. But if they found out, you would be in breach of contract.

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".
