Redeployment

Hello everyone, a while since I posted.
Please can anyone help?
Just found out that my role 'isn't comparable' to any other today. I was given option of VR or Redeploy, so I am trying RD.
What does failing to get comparable post actually mean? I understand I can appeal, but, boss doesn't think it's worth the stress I will face, and no guarantee it will change result (on sick for depression)
Any advice welcome.... thanks in advance

If you cannot be redeployed within whatever timescale the employer sets, then you will be made compulsarily redundant. That is what it means.0

Thanks SarEl
I needed someone to be direct about it.
I was wondering if it meant that, but, my boss wouldn't actually say the 'r' word... I guess I will be joining this thread more often....

Most employers have a set period of redeployment, but there is no guessing how long this will be - some very generous ones of my acquantance have 12 months, but it can be (and often is) much less. You need to ask some questions - how long is the redeployment, and are you treated as being on notice at any point during it or would notice be served at the end of it.0

From reading your post, it sounds as though you are currently on (long term ?) sick leave and are concerned that either way you will be made redundant - is it worth considering VR ?
Is your employer offering an enhanced package for VR ?
If so, is this significantly greater than statutory ?0 -

Good point - I hadn't assumed lomg term sickness since the OP didn't say that, but if it is a long term sickness then other options would be worth considering.0 -
Hello both Acc72 & SarEl
Thank you for thinking of these points.
Unfortunately I have been off with depression for a few months, and my boss let me know what was happening at work. It took me all my time (with a family member for support) just to sign a comparability/skill form which my boss had kindly drawn up on my behalf, and even more effort to get to a meeting about it (nearly had a meltdown before going in).
So, unfortunately I am struggling even to think of the right questions to ask.
I think we have until April/May to try applying for posts (30 people 10 jobs), then early summer find out if successful or will probably face compulsory redundancy. I worked there 11 years. I think the VR and CR are the same, but, there's been no real discussion about notice.
Sorry if this is a bit garbled, still trying to get my head around it.
Thanks

From your most recent post, just another few points for you to consider (I am not asking for you to reveal the answers !).
Are you currently in receipt of "full pay" whilst off sick ?
Do you anticipate remaining off sick for a while (difficult to judge I know) ?
If so, does your full pay reduce after say 6 months ?
Would it be possible to confirm the terms offered fro VR with your company ?0 -
Hello Acc72
1. Yes.
2. Unknown - Ikeep hoping to be signed off, but, GP n therapist say not yet n increased meds
3. after 3 months
4. I should ask but get phone phobic n stressed so wierdly can't dial out
It's hard to deal with at the moment....
