Can volunteering lead to a job?

    How come?, if the person could get a paid job surely they would be doing it?
    It gives people a start, experience and a reference,which is what a young person needs. If they person wants a career in admin,and theres nothing wrong with that,then surely this is a better option than working in Poundland.
    Also admin jobs further up the scale can be very well paid.
    My advice would be for the poster to sort out some voluntary work whilst looking for a paid position. Dont be waiting for a work trail as this most likley will only be helpful to the state and the big buisnesses not you.Unless you want to work indefinatley in a Poundshop.
    Where I last worked we had an admin volunteer who after volunteering with us landed a 18k a year admin job for the local safeguarding board. He hadnt worked for years as he had a history of depression. If this is what you want to do then go for it.Dont listen to people who say you should be doing anything etc.
