im really sorry if this is the wrong place but i cant see another forum it might fit in
i ordered some blu rays from hmv for £2 each they stated they were in stock and dispatch within 24hrs
i checked each day it was still showing as awaiting stock allocation
three days after i order i have received an email saying they are out of stock at the promotional price and they have canelled my order
i have since checked and they appear to have plenty in stock at the original price of £15.71
i did absolutely nothing wrong, can they do this?
i have sent an email querying it but if any of you guys can advise me i would greatly appreciate it

the price was obviously a mistake, and yes they can do what they did as any advertised price is only ever an "offer to treat",some well say different...they would be wrong
you should also see in the t&c`s E&OE,which is errors and ommisions excepted(there get out also from any errors in pricing)0 -
thank you for getting back to me so quickly woodbine
they have stated to me that it was a stock issue and not a pricing error, i have had a quick look through the t&c's and cant find anything like you suggested, not to say that you are wrong as what you have said would make sense
but hopefully they may honour the deal ill have to wait and see0 -
actually i have just found more or less what you said in a section called legal information
oh well, thanks again for your advise0 -
PLAY.COM did this to me a couple of years ago with a teletubby!! was £10 cheaper than everywhere else and they said it was out of stock after id ordered then they cancelled the order because they couldnt get any stock but started selling at a higher price!0

Amazon did this to me about a year ago with a horrible history box set. I sent them an email saying that I was very unhappy they had told me they were out of stock and then a day later they were in stock at a higher price.
They honoured the deal for me so might be worth dropping an email to customer services.
Edit: sorry just read you have already emailed them- good luck0 -
VERY did this recently with a £20 Superdry jacket. Made you wait 3 weeks, then cancelled the order. In the meantime offering the same jacket on their website for £70 . Called them and they said the £70 jacket was OOS as well, nothing they could do. Closed my account (that I didn't want anyway, just got it for the jacket).
