Bought some 20 watt spiral energy saving bulbs from the shed B & Q.
Put them in the fittings & turned them on........
They flicker, come on very very dim then suddenly burst into life.
Very off putting & not at all like my other 20 watt energy saving spiral bulbs.
Are they faulty ??
They are driving me nuts to be honest !!!!

Different brands behave differently. It all depends on how the starter is designed.
Personally, I like the ones that blink into life and hate the ones that produce a feeble glow when turned on and take several minutes before achieving full brightness. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Thanks for that.
I'm going to take them back to B & Q & get a refund.
Will try the offering for Homebase instead !!0
