Work Programme Query

Been on the Work Programme since Dec last year with G4S......not had any problems thus fair, infact they have been very helpful.

Recieved an email today of an appointment they have made for me to register with a recruitment agency. In the first place, I absolutely loathe agencies, as have signed up with so many of the past year, and heard absolutely nothing....infact I have already registered with the one G4S have made an appointment with....

I dont want to register again, so can I refuse to go, or will this be seen as refusing a job, even though there is no job (purely a speculative visit)?

If your already registered with the company just tell them.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

You can't register twice with any agency and the WP should know this and you should tell them. A bit odd really if you are registered that the agency haven't actually said something to the WP? speak up and tell the WP right away and or call the agency too and speak to the person who you registered with

Why not just phone the agency and tell them you are already registered? They probably wouldn't automatically know unless they went to the trouble of checking on their computer system, which they probably wouldn't be bothered about. If you ask nicely they might phone the 'provider' and explain.

Of course, the 'provider' will just make an appointment with a different agency. These people have to be seen to be pretending to do something.

You're right though, it's unlikely an agency will call you about anything. They used to when there were more vacancies but now they mostly only bother with a small number of regulars for temporary work and most likely ask them first should there be any permanent position available.
