I'm booked in to file for bankruptcy next week. What do I need to take with me apart from:
Debtor’s Petition
Statement of Affairs
£700
Do I have to take bank statements, outgoings etc? or just the above?

Hi cpisthedbb and good luck for next week
My tongue in cheek checklist:-
Your three copies of 6.27 and 6.28 and your completed EX160 if applicable and any benefit letters as proof (dated within a month)
Money for bankruptcy fees.
Spare change for coffee machine.
Paper or magazine to read while waiting.
Change for car park.
Optional a friend to chat to/hold hand.
Best wishes

Cheers for the reply. Why do you need 3 copies of the forms? (I'm not on benefits)...0

One for you, the OR and the Court."If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

Wont the court just photo copy it? Or do I have to fill in 3 forms?0

The court will not photocopy it without charging you, and even then they may not do it, imagine if they had to photocopy everyones papers it would take them forever:) Have you taken advice from any of the debt charities?:pB&SC No. 298

you need three copies,I was asked for three, I think all courts do,it's not for them to photo copy your stuff

They used to do that but now I believe you have to print off the 3 copies yourself. Ring your court and ask if they do this and if they do ask how much they charge as some posters were shocked and amazed by how much they were charged!!!!"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

What a waste of paper, I'll print out & fill out 2 more then. Don't they need to see your income and outgoings at all then?
Also will I be bankrupt from that day or is there a wait before it happens?0 -
my count had an option to post out the forms or print them off,yes as soon as the stamp hits the form you're BR.

the OR sorts expenses out on the phone call but your BR forms has that info too.0 -
It's not a waste of paper, the Court needs to keep one copy for their records, one copy is sent on to the OR's office for their use and the third is yours for reference. Extremely important to have your copy in front of you for your OR interview as they will use the 6.28 SOA form as the basis of their interview.
The 6.28 Statement of Affairs has an income and expenses page so you will be declaring everything to do with your current financial situation when you petition for your BR.When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
