Welcone Finance

Hi, please can someone give me some advice. I had a loan with Welcome Finance and the length of this loan was 48 months, the 48th month being Dec 2011. I called their complaints team and confirmed in dec that i had made all payment. This was confirmed so i cancelled my direct debit. i have since had a very nasty man phoning from the inverness branch stating my account shows a balance due of £875. I disputed this so phoned the complaints team, after a guy reviewing my case for sometime stated he was going to escalate the complaint but he believed i had no more payments due. There seems to be some problem of updating systems when i successfully claimed PPI in Sept 09. The guy said not to make any further payments, however got a letter today stating they are reinstating payments from end of month. I called complaints again who said until fully investigated payments due and if my complaint successful i should get my money back. I told her im not paying it until i was sure it was due as firstly I beleive there is an error and i don't owe it and that they have gone bust so sceptical ill ever see the money again. She advised if payment due i would incur interest. I told her id take my chance. Am i within my rights, what can i do so no payments are taken.

    Hello there lorna1978

I work for the Financial Ombudsman Service, the free service set up by law to help sort out problems between consumers and financial businesses. You could ask the business if it would be willing to suspend any charges or interest on your account while your complaint is being looked into - however, it is not required to do so.

If, after the business has had the opportunity to consider your complaint, you remain unhappy - the ombudsman service may be able to help on 0300 123 9 123.

    Thanks Phillipa

I am being harrassed on a daily basis by one employee. He is bullying me into making payments. I refuse to do so. I am worried they will take money from my account without my permission as they have my bank details. I am going to write to their complaints dept re this employee and also re interest and charges. So fed up with this lot but its my own fault for taking a loan from them.

Which account details do they have? Direct debit, Debit card etc.? If its a debit card call your bank and say you lost it, if its a DD just cancel it don't let them bully you.
