aldi free range chickens

Saw these in Aldi for £4 49.Are these any good ? I usually buy M&S chickens,But I am on an economy drive and trying to save money.
I nearly always have a £5 recycle voucher from Halton, for Marks, so it's not to extravagant getting a few goodies from there.:o
However i do pay £7 or £8 for their chicken.

Yes they are fine, i'd say they are on a par with m&s chicken (which isn't often free range) but not quite as nice as costco's free range ones.

Aldi's free range chickens are lovely. The size is 1.5 kilos, but if you sort through you can usually find one that weighs heavier;)

If you have an Aldi newspaper voucher for £5 off a £30 spend stock up the freezer.

I bought 2 large packs of chicken thighs @ Aldi today only £1.99 each. (plus £5 Mirror discount voucher off the £30+) shop.

Morrisons would have cost me £3 each or 2 for £5.

    Aldi wins on Chicken pricing!!

The free range chickens are great. In my local store they obviously don't sell very well and I can normally pick one up 1-2 days before the sell by date for 30% off. 1.5Kg free range chicken for £3.49 is hard to beat!

Could you tell me if they are fresh or frozen, there's only 2 of us and I usually cut one all the way down the middle and freeze in 2 lots.

they are fresh so ok to freeze.

there are 2 of us as well . One of these chickens does us for 3 days dinners. Excellent value
  • The free range chickens at less than a £5 is one of the reasons I love going to A*di. I even got one at £3 ish reduced. Went straight into the freezer and when defrosted made us a nice roast dinner and two lots of lovely soup from the stock and left over meat with sweetcorn and noodles.
  • Thanks to everyone for your input. Saving me a few pounds then
