Hi.

First ever post.

Can ayone advise me if calls are recorded when you ring this Tax Evasion Hotline - 0800 788 887.


I wish to report a significant fraud where someone is buying/ selling a significant amount of goods, cash in hand, and declaring nothing to the taxman, (we are talking buying animals from auction and selling them on for a significantly high profit ie. purchasing Mckaws etc for £100 and selling them on for as much as £350).

I know the line is meant to be anonymous.....but' like I say, do they record the calls made to it??

When a call is recorded, the recorder must tell you. So ring the number and you will find out before you say anything. If it is and you don't like it, put the phone down.

I suppose I could just ask when I phone as well!

I know its probably in the wrong section but do you have to be a registered seller / go through any checks to legally sell Birds / Animals etc within the UK?

You can report tax evasion online;

They do ask you for an email address, but getting one of those ain't that difficult.
