Help!
I have a lot of debt approx £2500 ( may not be a lot to some people but it sure is to me! ) i am paying it off slowly but surely though, i earn ok money etc.. I was living in a house share but we have now been told the house is being sold and we won't be able to re new our tenancies! I now need to get my own place sorted and need a deposit/first months rent/admin fees in total i'm looking at around £1200 to get in somewhere... But i don't have that much money and due to paying off debts can not save that much by April when i have to be out of here! I have bad credit due to the debt and a number of previous default and i have nobody that can act as a gaurentor so can not find anyone willing to give me a loan ... any suggestions please???

I don't understand - if you're looking for another house share, it surely won't cost anything like £1200? Presumably another house share is the sensible route if you still want to pay off your debts and don't have ready access to funds.0

There are no other house shares in this area i've checked constantly.. i have to stay in this area because it's close to work, i don't drive and work all sorts of hours so can't rely on buses etc..0

Will youget any money back from your current landlord in terms of bond/deposit which can help towards the cost of moving?0

I get my deposit back but thats only £1000

Why don't you rent somewhere with the people you currently live with then the deposit/rent etc. will be split and be much easier to afford.0

Already tried.. One of them is moving in with their partner and i can't ask the other one because they speak hardly any english and polish isn't all that great either0

where I live (west london) I saw an ad to give someone a room in exchange for six hours per week housework. Why don't you explore this sort of scheme in your location. An elderly relative of mine had someone with the same sort of system, who did shopping and odd jobs for her in exchange for his room. I think it was organised by her local authority but not 100% sure.0

How about advertising for house sharers? You'll maybe find there are a few about? Ask at work? Advertise for a room in a house for cleaning / childcare duties ( not ideal but will fill a gap?)May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j0 -
Does your employer have a list of rooms to rent? Some do if they are large enough and have a high turnover of staff. Maybe someone at work has a spare room and might like the extra income especially if they are empty nesters. Try your local authority they might have some ideas I remember reading something where I live about wanting rooms in peoples' houses for a similar scheme to which Chesky mentioned. Good luck.0

There was something similar to this in the guardian paper either last saturday or 1 before where someone who was looking for a house came across the option of living with an elderly person and all they had to do was spend a few hours (either a day or a week but cant remember) either with them or help them with chores(again cant remember). Cant remember the name of the scheme either.0
