ESA - The joke of working
AVSeer
I became disabled through chronic depression brought on by previous employment - I applied for ESA and originally got turned down until my house mate read the response and pointed out that they clearly had not read the report - it was then granted on appeal.
I have dentures - I got dental treatment and now I am being hounded by the NHS Dental services who claim that because I am on contribution based ESA I have to pay dental charges oh and for claiming when I'm not entitled a £100 fine. I am fighting this tooth and nail - how can I only get £377 in ESA a month, am no longer able to function in society and still have to pay for NHS treatment which I cannot afford? I get no help with mortgage or energy bills.
So the message is - work all your life but don't become disabled or dependent because compassionate conservatism means squat! In trying to catch out all the 'alleged' benefit fraudsters they are doing those of us that need help a complete disservice. My Tory MP has been worse than useless - telling me to go to the doctor, as if I do not know this already I am under their care, but they cannot magic money for me, can they?
If anyone knows how to help or fight this I would welcome the support - I am trying to understand why prisoners, long term unemployed and everyone else appears to be able to benefit yet those that have paid in all their lives apparently cannot.

I think what the other poster meant, is that you'd get better advice for getting the benefits you're entitled to on another board (as mentioned above), hopefully a moderator will move it for you as then you'll get some helpful answers .
I wish you luck in getting something sorted asap
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
still not clear what you want, a discussion perhaps or plenty of threads about MS, selling via party plan, ironing that sort of thing0

Sorry but the wording in your poll is somewhat ambiguous, so my answer is: -
Are disabled people suffering from benefit cheats? "No" not directly and also "Yes" due to lead swingers.
I say not directly as the system when it works is a good safety net. If you have worked and are signed off sick so qualify for "contribution based ESA" this is no different to getting the old "sick pay". You are expected to have enough savings to cover normal costs such as glasses or dental treatment.
However this does not mean there are not those who are "swinging the lead" and abusing the system. I once did a temporary job which was done purely in order to get someone back to work who was signed off sick.Truth always poses doubts & questions. I thought I did post it in benefits - this is clearly all too confusing for me. Walk a mile and then you'll understand.0

Trust me, it is not ambiguous to me at all. All I hear is how benefit cheats needs to be clamped down on and it tars us all with that brush. I wish I had not bothered posting at all. Depression is something I am trying to highlight yet all it seems to do is invite criticism.0 -
sorry but I still don't understand what you want us to say? its not up to us to discuss benefit cheats nor prisoners.
are you wanting to claim more benefits yourself?
I've walked plenty of miles in my own shoes thanks very much as they can be quite uncomfortable but unless you post about what you want/are asking then no-one can help.0
