Because the loss in confidence in fiat currencies started only after 2008. It's a relatively new feeling.
Did it ?
I guess you didn't even understand what a Fiat currency was until very recently, in fact I am pretty certain you still don't understand.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
I have been topping up my FairFx Card every time it goes above 1.3750. So far it keeps bouncing off that level, but it'll probably bust above 1.40 if the brown stuff hits the whatjeme call it.
Alternatively the more dodgy countries that leave the EUR the stronger it might get!I think....0 -

Actually, if you were Greek, withdrawing all your Euros from your bank account and spending it all on some Fiats might not be a bad idea. In the event of a Grexit, even if you can't sell the Fiats, at least you'll be able to rent them out to the flood of tourists arriving as a result of the new devalued drachma.0 -

For all the tough talk, looks like the EU is going to blink first. Seems a 12 month bailout extension and further loans could be on the cards - one of them to pay the existing payments on the loans this month.
Hard to keep blaming the Greeks when the EU carries on extending. On saying that - they might not yet.0 -
