But when, this has been going on for a long time now.... is it that changes have yet to filter through, or that change has never occurred or are we waiting for something?0 -

Are we waiting for something?
Perhaps everyone was waiting for the inevitable realisation that Varoufakis is a complete plonker whose only achievement to date has to been to achieve unanimity amongst his Euro peers that he is a "a time-waster, a gambler and an amateur"?
Is this the man to replace Yanis Varoufakis as Greece's new finance minister?

Yes- A cashpoint tax!
To deter the wretched population from withdrawing their money.
The sensible one never put it in the bank in the first place.0 -
Surely announcing a possible cashpoint tax, as people are draining their accoutns through fear is only going to make even more people panic and start withdrawing their money before the tax comes in?
It's like saying there is a petrol shortage and in two weeks time, we'll not be able to buy petrol for a couple of weeks. The first thing you will see is massive queues at the pumps as people fill up, making the shortage issue a whole lot worse.0 -

Nothing new about cash machine withdrawal charges.
Irish banks have been charging them for some time - 35 cents an ATM withdrawal. You only avoid them with AIB if your current account balance doesn't fall below 2,500 euro.
Frankly if they wanted to stop withdrawals a 1 euro charge would have no effect. The best route is to limit daily withdrawals e.g. to 50 euro!0 -

The Anglo Saxon world? What planet is that man on?
I consider myself English. I consider myself British. I've never even thought of myself an Angle or a Saxon. If you are an Angle with a gripe against Juncker does that make you an Angle Grinder? Do you have to be into heavy metal to be a Saxon? Or is England in a secret alliance with Saxony?
What next? He'll send in the Normans if we misbehave? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Great - if the EU rule out Grexit then the Greeks might as well stick 2 fingers up at austerity and just print the Euros they need as they aren't going to get thrown out:j
I couldn't link to the FT article refereed to in my previous post ..But IMF seem to be asking for a debt write off ...So it really does look like free money for the Greeks.0
