Help needed,please !!
I am in the depths of despair and desparate for help. Some years ago,not sure how many years, I took out a loan!.I was struggling to pay it back,as my husband had left us.The bank suggested I consolodated my two accounts and increased my loan, which I did. I had undergone ECT for depression around the same time. I wasnt working,I was on benefits when I got the loan, unsecured. I have been taken to court 2yrs ago and am paying £26 p/w. I have contacted the RBS about the possible overcharges added to the original amount, and the interest they are still adding monthly, which is more than the amount I am paying back. They said unless I had details of dates and signed agreements,I could not do anything, also as they have a judgement against me,the decision is final.RBS said they will have me back in court when im not expecting it,I dread the post coming every day. My mental health is worse now than ever,I have tried to take my own life recently,as I can see no way out. Can someone please give me some help?

Hi
What do you owe on this debt?
Do you have any other debts?
I think you are probably going to be best speaking to one of the debt advice charities for some help in tackling your debts.
Are you being treated with regards to your depression/MH issues currently? as trying to dealing with debt problems on top of that can be so much harder.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for reply. I have arranged with a charity to visit me to discuss it,but they are not able to see me until middle of april.
I am on all sorts of medication for depression and m/h issues, but nothing helps,I dont even know what day it is half the time, makes it very difficult to try and sort things out when the medics would rather fill people with tranquilisers.
Thanks again,

ps, with all of the interest and court charges,it amounts to £30.000+ i think.0

Do you have assets at all?
Based on that debt and assuming the £26 is all you can afford then bankruptcy might be a suitable option in your circumstances. You are never going to be free of it as it stands at the moment.
Was it CAP that were going to come and visit at home?
April is ages a way - maybe try to see when you could see a money advisor at your local CAB or what about one of the charities that advise over the phone - such as CCCS?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I have my house which the bank tried to get off me,the judge said no,as I am disabled as is my daughter.
Since I was told to pay £26, all of the changes in the benefits system, means my income has dropped.
Yes it is CAP coming out,my local CAB are hopeless.I find it very difficult to leave the house anyway,so going to see CAB would be very difficult.0 -
bankrupcy
just do it. they probably can't touch your house.
you will never get credit anywhere again but that is probably a good thing given your situation - as you'd never want to have to go through all this worry again.0
