Link Financial chasing a statute barred old style loan.

They were forced to admit it was statute barred and made to bog off.

  • Ahhhh thanks for that info! It's interesting to see how they have changed the way the loans work.

It cannot be easy for them to keep track of every student loan when thousands of people each year take out student loans. This just makes sure every one pays back what they've borrowed :)

I've been trying to pay some of my loan back, even though I'm still in Uni and working, but am unable to log in to the SLC repayment site for some reason!

OP - if your's is only £6k I envy you. I'm already up to £33k with SLC!
    SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,000

Sorry to hear things have got a hell of a lot worse. I would go as far as to say immoral, and will force many post grads abroad I am sure.

  • Sorry, the chippy. The claim here is not yet sb'd but will be in 1.5 years.

In anycase - having received an unenforceable cca, and a pre-litigation letter i now have two options:

    1) challenge the CCA enforecability and pre-litagation letter > then later, go to option 2.
    2) send an account in dispute letter

Any advice on which course of action is deemed the best?

    Sorry,

Was a bit touchy last night..;)

You could do both at once.
Send an account in dispute letter based on the fact that the paperwork is u/e due to the lack of the prescribed terms.

I'd also be asking for a copy of both the terms and legislation upon which they are relying to escalate 1300 to 6000!

The only confusing area is where you state that it was taken out in 1997, but the paperwork you have now says 2000??

If the 1st loan was taken out in 1997, then on a 3 or 4 year course there would be subsequent ones for 98, 99 and perhaps 2000.

Each loan requires a new signed CCA (I know, I have 4 separate signed agreements), so perhaps CrapQuest have just sent alleged paperwork for the most recent?

    Just a guess......
