Saw that the harbour was frozen to about 60' out, yesterday.
It was a bit frozen! Not as good as when i went to holland a few years ago though. We skated on the lakes and rivers and WALKED across the see to the island a few KM away. It was bizaar? People riding their bikes on the sea etc. to top it all the authorities there were brill, there were mobile signs everywhere telling you where it was safe to skate etc and mobile coffee shops popping up all over. Never been so cold in my life though! One of my bestest memories so far. Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
Happy Birthday MKS!mymerrywidow wrote: »i got some milk. 50p a pint though:eek::eek: no wonder these corner shops are closing down. bread is in the bread maker.
It's 50p a pint in T's too...........Thanks Kadison, the op is to slowly close the open wound in his leg, but they can only do a little at a time as the skin starts to grow back.
We've complained loads of times about loads of things. It took about 3 wks and a visit from the chef, just to try and get his meals sorted out (he's wheat intolerent) and yet still, every other day, they deny having his meal on the trolley and my mum has to go to the trolley and point it out to them , they don't even bother to look for it.
The other day, they just put it in front of him, without even checking it and it had a sponge (contains loads of wheat!!!) pudding on it
He's been in this hospital many times before and it's the same battles every time he's there, with the exception of when he was on the ICU, where I couldn't praise the staff more, they were all :A's
This is the same hospital he caught MSSA at when he had his heart attack. This was because the didn't change his cannular in time (they are dated). Yet still this time, when he asked to have his cannular changed, the nurse simply glanced at him and said 'it looks fine' and wandered off!! My mum had to go after her and tell her to come back and change it as it was dated and should have been changed over the day before
I have told my mum to speak with the hospital registrar, but not sure whether she will do it. Unfortunately, until my colds better, I can't go in and do anything
Sorryrant over, they just make me so angry
I would go through patient liaison as Queen Of Cheap suggests, they are there purely to help you and are duty bound to take any complaints very seriously. What happens if he eats wheat? Could it make him very seriously ill or worse? A well-placed suggestion to patient liaison that they could be facing legal action if they don't take his food needs sersiouly could work well. Any decent PALS service (as ours is called) will realise this without you pointing it out but it doesn't hurt to remind them.
If you don't get anywhere with any of this and if you can't get him transferred to another hospital (he has the right to choose where he's treated - something to look into), I would get the press involved, anything from a local newspaper to the times - the more noise you make the more they will take notice and bring their standards up to scratch. Hospitals live in fear of bad press, even if you were to lightly 'threaten' them with this, it could work wonders!!No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023
