Yellow Bean sauce

Find black bean sauce far too salty, so tempted to try yellow bean. Is it anything like it? Salty? Sweet? HELP

It's nothing like black bean sauce at all. Sweeter I suppose, but a completely different taste. It's used as an ingredient in Char Sui sauce...0

Most Oriental/Chinese foods are high in salt- its a big part of the taste. OP have you tried reduced sodium soy-sauce and then using your own spices from cookery books?0

I'm not after making my own, and I know TA's are "salty" but Black Bean is especially so, which is why I was asking if Yellow Bean is as much. I know people are trying to help with making alternative suggestions but just wanted the basic answer to the question. No offence intended.0
