The OP could maybe add a note in the title as to the issues.Possibly the site will reinstate the comp.
Other options include passing it to a BG & getting it moved to Game Over,in the belief it is done.If it does come back a BG would have to move it back though so more messing about.
Maybe in the meantime someone could bump if it actually works :-)

The solution I've found, is to sign in and then go to the comps tab, and click through to the competition from there.

I'm having a problem entering this competition. I sign in and then go to the competition but then it shows that I must sign in/register at the bottom to enter. I'm already logged in at the top. I've tried signing in at the bottom and then go to the competition from the comps tab but I'm still having the same problem.

ETA - Ignore me. It's working now!
