Gas or petrol?

I have £6 to my name. The house is freezing and LO is bundled up as I need gas. I also have to go to mum's to give brother the power lead to the laptop that I'm selling so he can clear the memory.
I'm going back to work after maternity early, but for the next month or so I'm screwed. OH works but in a horribly paid job (works for an international healthcare company and gets paid just over NMW). I've had to borrow from him for various bills this month and I've worked out that I can't touch ANY money in my account next month as bills are just under maternity pay. We barely have enough money to eat after bills, heating, electric etc. TV Licence goons have been at the door (thankfully when we were out) as I can't afford the £24/month for the licence.
Still waiting for benefits to be processed, so no extra money coming in. Been selling stuff but tbh there's not much to sell. Started Avon, but won't get much immediately.
I don't know what to do. I know it's a temporary situation for a couple of months, but it's getting me down that we can't afford anything.

Any chance mum or brother lend you a few quid until you get the laptop sold? Just to pay for enough petrol to get you over there?
Does OH live with you? if so do you keep your finances separate? And if so is it a fair split of household costs based on what income you both have coming in?
When do you next get some money coming in? is that your maternity pay? When do you get your next child benefit?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Isn't TV licence ~£12 a month?0

What a horrible situation. We have been there before. If you are waiting for your benefit claims to be processed, can you borrow some money off your mum/dad until your money comes through? I would also ring the benefits people and chase your claims. Tax Credits are usually pretty quick.
Are you claiming everything that you are entitled to? x

Is there no way mum or brother can come over to collect the cable?0

Why are you 'borrowing' from your OH?Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Why are you 'borrowing' from your OH?
I don't understand this either. You have a child together, everything should be shared imo.
When is your child benefit due? Is it weekly or monthly for you? In the meantime, do you have books you can sell to Zapper.co.uk, old mobiles etc onto Ebay, general toot you longer needs could be put onto Ebay too.
Post an SOA (incomings and outgoings) and we will see if we can help to reduce your payments? Are you paying for things like mobile insurance or expensive boiler cover? If so, do you really need them?0
