I have been looking for a couple of wedding cars in cambs but as I'm on a budget am failing. Is it just that people hear the word "wedding" and add an extra 0 on the end?
Any one else find bargain cars for weddings?

I got married near Cambs & just got a taxi, which was about £20.
Do you want taxi or a fancy one?0 -
I've seen a few people suggesting looking at taxi hire rather than wedding cars. Some taxi places have excuitive cars which might be suitable.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.

Depends if you want the car to be decorated with ribbons, uniformed driver, champagne and flowers in the back, etc - that's what pushes the price up.
Some taxis (depending on the local authority) may arrive at your wedding in a car, with taxi signs, lights etc, advertisements etc., which may look out of place at a wedding.
Wedding cars are usually exempt from this, if the company specialises in weddings only, but ensure they are appropriately insured, as they are plenty of rogue companies out there, are people doing it part time on the side without adequate hire & reward and public liability insurance.
When ringing up for an executive car, it may be cheaper not to mention it's being used for a wedding (but you won't get ribbons, etc, though if it's an executive service then the driver should be wearing a suit), but ask for an "as directed" quote, and they should give you an hourly rate.0 -

How much are you looking to spend and what/how many cars do you require as I'm using a company which were a lot cheaper than I'd seen but may not be cheap enough for what you're looking at?If you like my post, please click the THANKS

we would need 2 cars and i'm not sure of prices to be honest. we were looking at a limo but thats £300 for 2 hours which i thought was just ridiculous prices! I'm open to prices (but not £300 for 2 hours!)0

£300 - depends on what you define as a limo! (not quite sure what wedding car you've go in mind?)
A quick look here suggests that's the price of a Rolls-Royce/Bentley is about that price, though you can get a Mercedes from £35/hour (min 6 hours booking though for a wedding).
http://www.royalsilverservice.co.uk/pricing.html - they're London based though, I thought I'd post their link here to give you an idea on pricing, which I hope no-one mind - I don't work for them or have any dealings with them, I just know about them because I'm the business myself and I went to a wedding where they had one of their Maybachs there.0
