Table decorations/Photobooth - South Wales

Hello!
Any suggestions for decent table decoration suppliers in South Wales? I am on an incredibly strict budget, although everything I like seems to be expensive (think tall lily vases etc) :rotfl:
£2.95 for chair covers?! Really?! £10 for a sash?! MADNESS.
We're getting married in December so my mum has her eyes on amaryllis for table centrepieces, I've no idea how these would fit in as I've got no clue when it comes to flowers (daisies...? they're a flower right? etc etc)
Also, I'd like a photobooth, so any suggestions there would be appreciated too.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks.

Regarding photobooth, I posted a few weeks ago about doing my own as quotes I was getting were around £500. I'll try and find the link, but it seems lots of people nowadays are making their own photosbooths.
Chaircovers and sashes, do you want these or are you just saying how much you've found them for? You can probably find them on the internet for around £1.25-£1.50 per cover.
Centrepeices, what would you like? Are you crafty, can you make something yourself? How many tables will you be having and what is your budget per table? That way we can point you in the right direction, I know you say your budget is tight. you can get glass vases in places like ikea etc for a couple of quid, then can maybe add dried or silk flowers, do you want flowers or is that what you mum has suggested. What is your colour scheme? Do you have a theme?
EDIT
This is photobooth link https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3734023Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
All excellent points, thank you!
I do consider myself crafty, but worry that there won't be time on the day to make it look as good as I possibly can? Also, I have been to family weddings where all the place settings and decorations were done by members of the family (not the bride or groom!), so we were there at the beginning and end setting everything up and putting it all away. That is not something I want to do to my family, so perhaps I should just bite the bullet and spend the money?!
Saying that, the idea of paying the same amount of money to hire decorations, when I could simply buy them and flog them after seems unappealing too.
In my brain I budgeted £200 for all the decorations. Having looked around, unless I want to do it all myself, that's not going to be possible. Basically I am clueless and assume everything will be really cheap, and now I've looked into the wedding properly, EVERYTHING from the honeymoon to the napkins is beyond expensive.
/weep.
I appreciate your response though and it has given me some very useful food for thought.0 -

Where are you having the reception, where is it you want decorated, is it a hotel or a hall? If it's a hotel I'd ask if they are happy to put out the table decorations and whatever else you want, I'm pretty sure they will do this. If it is a hall, I would ask around and see if there's anyone you can give say £20 to for an hours work in setting up.
You can make centrepieces and have the hotel put them out, that is no different to a company making them and the hotel setting them out.
If you list on here what you'd like then, believe me, we will all hunt the internet and post prices that we find. People here find the most brilliant things!
So make a list of ideally what you'd like decoration wise - £200 to me seems an awful lot, and I recon you could get a fair amount for that.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

It's in a hotel, so you're right, I need to ask them about their process for decorations.
There will be approx 65 people for the day and 90 for the evening, so no more than 7 tables. I am very taken with tall lily vases, but that doesn't quite work with my Mum's idea of amaryllis. I also like the round bowls?
I have no theme at all and a vague idea of green as a colour, but I don't want to be proscriptive in that sense and am happy for the colour to be dictated by other elements that I find during the year (we're not doing it till this December).
I totally agree that £200 is a lot for decorations. my views are getting a bit skewed to be honest because a lot of the people I've spoken too seem to think I'm being a bit mean(!) and this is the one day of my life I should spend lots of money (!!) I do agree with that to an extent, but I also disagree with getting into debt before you're married. As an example, I emailed a Kuoni rep for a quote for a holiday that would be approx £3k, and he replied stating that "I needed to look into more budget holiday operators for that sort of holiday"!! Lovely!0 -
There is every chance that my centrepieces for tables (we have approx the same numbers) will be either
chunky candlesticks bought from a car boot and then painted ivory/cream with a pillar candle on top and flowers around the bottom
or
small branch from cherry trees (they kind of look more like mini trees than other branches) cut by my own fair hand and then also sprayed cream/ivory and then concreted into a pot and decorated with cheapo necklaces from a car boot
they sound horrible but I think they will be nice, lol0 -

I don't think they sound horrible! and your idea about spray painting candlesticks is genius...0
