Querying holiday allowance

I have been employed since 2005 full time working 5 days tues - sat which it clearly states in my contract my original contract gave me 20 days plus all bank holidays but was amended when the law changed to give me 24 days plus bank holidays as I never work Mondays.

I thus concluded that my other 4 days were derived from Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. However since 2009 some of these have fallen on the Sun and or Monday meaning that I have not recieved my 28 statutory holidays. Am I right in thinking these cannot therefore be included in that year and extra days should have been added. I did query this in 2010 and got nowhere. My line manager has said to go back to HR as it is between me and them. I employ a nanny to look after the children whilst I work and she currently gets more holiday than I do ! Just wanted to know if I was missing something before I followed this up and looked an idiot !

I should add that I had to ask for them to amend my contract in the first place to get the 24 days as I didnt work Mondays and was missing out and I don't work for a one man band !

Your statutory should be 28 days as you work 5 days a week.

Get them to amend to 28 days and just use holiday when a BH lands on a work day and you don't work.
