DONT buy CRICUT machines direct from US

Just a wee warning to anyone thinking of buying a Cricut machine directly from the USA. DONT! I bought my wife a Cricut Cake machine from Cricutmachines.com during their sale in November.
I was really persuaded by the sale price of the machine which was around $50 (£30), compared with the best price in the UK of around £150-£200 that was a huge saving. They did want £56 for postage, but it still worked out a lot cheaper.
Unfortunately though, the item didn't work at all when it arrived (though it did arrive within 3 days- wow!). I spent over an hour on the phone with cricutmachines in Utah, but they were steadfast in their view that because I was not in the US, they had no responsibility to fix, replace or refund me for the purchase, even although they themselves said that the machine was bust.
They were clear that had I bought it in USA or Canada, a replacement would have been automatic, but I wasn't so they didn't care.
My amazing saving has left me over £100 out of pocket, so be warned! Just save up a wee bit more and get one from a UK supplier (they're now on Amazon at around £168).
I'm away to try and see if my credit card company will refund me under section 75, but it's doubtful as the actual machine only cost about £30, the rest was in delivery charges...

I don't know anything about Cricut machines but, assuming that these are electricity-powered machines, have you plugged a 120v machine intended for the US market into the 240 volt mains in the UK - or are they dual voltage?0
