A friend who is the local NASUWT rep told me once, the earlier a Teacher retires the longer they will live beyond standard retirement age.

Yes I'd like to see data too.
My guess is it can work both ways. Being retired with no clear hobbies/aims/ plan may be worse for longevity - not always easy to lose the purpose, dscipline and interaction you get in work.0
