I bought crystal look decanters from car boots/charity shops etc and filled them one red one white on each table we also put a jug of water on each table somehow it makes people ration themselves more if they see whats left in the decanter!!yone said how nice it looked and the decanters /jugs have already now done one other wedding! Ever we did have someone (Daughter and friends) keeping an eye and refilling them when they were empty but we were surprised how rarely they did it! we had a sparkling choice of bucks fizz, orange juice or cassis when they came in bought when on offer from M and S and bought the champers when on special offer often around valentines/mothers day etc. You can fill them from wine boxes too which sometimes can be cheaper. Hope this helps.
That's actually a brilliant idea! Because at the mo, i'm toying with Aldi/lidl wine - but not sure if I can bring myself to give the game away by putting the bottles on the table when they say 'prodcued for aldi' on the back! Not sure how to get round keeping the white/rose cool though?0 -
right, the sparking chardonnay and a proscetto are def next on the 'taste test' list then! I need to get rid of the champagne idea i think! thank you all for being so helpful! i don't drink that much myself, so it's really hard knowing what's safe to save on alcohol wise0

If you dont want to 'advertise' Lidl or Aldi do some personalised labels to cover the original ones. I've done this in the past with sweets/chocolates for kids party bags so no reason why you couldn't do it with wine bottles.
Hope you have a lovely day.0 -
500! wow! I'm a big Aldi fan, but not sure what my more snobby guest will think of Aldi wine on the tables..
Costco's def worth a look, thanks.
Get round that easily by personalising some bottle lables either print your own or get some precut ones done in vinyl the snobby guests will be even more impressed and will never know what they are drinking!0
