Due to start a new job

Hi there
Iv'e been offered a job with a merchandising company and iv'e done 3 days classroom training and the job is due to start at any time but i don't know when and they've said it's still positive and is still definitively going to happen. all iv'e received is a txt message with an expected start date which was on the 15th jan. It'll be for about 11 months and ill have to do 2 and half days training but they've said it's not a case of if but when it will start which i don't know or they don't know when that will be as they've not heard off of the main employer as the company ill be working for is contracted.
But it could start at anytime as soon they hear back they'll let me know and they have got a fair few other people yet due to start the same as me. But i'm currently still on jsa and iv'e signed on once and told them that iv'e been offered a job and it's due to start at any time but i don't know when exactly and i dident sign off just incase it diden't start in the nxt 2 weeks and i think i may have to sign on again this fri as i don't want to lose out on any money.
I.e travel money to get to get to the job when it finally does start. I haven't really done much to look for work at the moment because i have felt that i diden't need to as iv'e already got this job lined for pretty soon.
But i wondering what i should do, should i carry on looking for work or should i wait for this job to start. I know i hate waiting it's dragging on a bit now as i did get offered the job and did the classroom training just before xmas. What should i say to the jobcentre or my advisor.
Many thanks

you need to carry on job searching until you get a proper offer of employment, from a proper employer in writing...0

Agreed, but in the meantime you need to chase. This offer of jam tomorrow sounds decidedly dodgy.you need to carry on job searching until you get a proper offer of employment, from a proper employer in writing...Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
