Hi I am trying to do self assessment online to meet the deadline, however it asks for the UTR, called the helpline was told I can download the SA1 form and post it to HMRC, but having searched on this forum, it seems this will take ages to get it,is there a quicker way to get the UTR?
and if I can't get it before 31/01/2012 any way to do my self assessment (I know its my fault to leave it last min!), but I don't have any tax to pay just need to declare a saving.
Thanks very much for any advice.

What makes you think you need to declare the saving - especially if there's no tax to pay.
What is it and how much?0 -
As the website says if you have a saving more than £10,000 you need to declare it.
Am I misunderstood anything here?0 -
Is the interest more than £10,000 - it's based on that not capital held.0
